Creative Minds Youth art PROGRAM 

(9-11 YEARS OLD)

January, February & March 

Mondays 3:15 to 5:00 p.m.

4th – 6th grade

Creative Minds is an art experience program. This 4-week art experience encourages creativity using various mediums and techniques. While creativity and medium exploration is a primary goal, this class also focuses on tools of geometry in development of design, especially in perspective drawing. An after-school snack is provided.

Cost: $30.00 per month, materials included due to the generosity of the “Dorothea Paul Legacy Art Fund”.

Open Registration   10 students per month

Organizations serving youth who wish to have a group art experience may do so free of charge – please email birdislandculture@gmail.com to schedule your group event.

Rosemary, a Minnesota native has resided in Renville County for approximately forty years. During this time, she organized art shows in various venues. These three-day exhibitions showcased local, regional and metropolitan artists. As a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Superior, she designed her own major entitled Integrative Community Wellness which encompassed her belief that art, psychology and health are interconnected. She has been instrumental in the management of the Cultural Centre, her brain child, since its inception in November 2016. As an artist, poet/essayist and entrepreneur she thrives on the creative process. In 2021, Rosemary was selected as the receipent of the Prairie Disciple Award “in recognition of her outstanding commitment and sustained efforts to promote the vitality of the arts in Southwest Minnesota and with appreciation for her significant achievement as an arts advocate for our region and state.”
