January 7, 2024- Last week the Cultural Centre kicked off their Youth Art Classes with the first session of the six-week session Creative Minds Youth Program. We had an amazing group of students. We had 5 excited little girls ready to learn and create some art.

Rosemary began with a perspective drawing activity that amazed us all. These girls were up to the challenge and proved that you are never too young to learn basic rules of perspective.

After creating a building, the students continued with their class. Rosemary taught her students how to create a perfect triangle, but that was just the beginning of their next artwork. After following Rosemary’s instructions, they had created a pear. Yes, a pear!

As the class continued, Rosemary instructed the students to draw a backwards C, then an arch with a line that connected with the backwards C. A lemon shape followed as a head. Then some legs, ears and a fluffy tail and before we knew it a rabbit appeared!

This is just the first class of more to come during January and February of 2024. There is still time to register for classes where your children can learn basic drawing, paint, learn origami, and create sculptures with beeswax.
