“Cartoon You”

with Krystl Louwagie | Art By Krystl

This event has been canceled. Look forward to an instructional video by Krystl on Mandalas, coming soon!

Are you curious about making your own comics, but don’t know where to start? How about with what you know best: you! In this introductory class, artist Krystl Louwagie will walk you through visual exercises to help you visualize how you can make your own cartoon version of yourself (or those close to you). You don’t have to have traditional drawing skills, just an open mind and the right tools (and to have fun and not take yourself too seriously)!

Maximum Class Size: 10 students

Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Cost: $25 (materials included)

Register by contacting the Cultural Centre or online!

Krystl Louwagie

Art Instructor

Krystl Louwagie grew up on a farm in Southwestern Minnesota, earned her BFA in Studio Art from Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN, and then returned back to the prairie. She has taught courses on Zentangle Inspired Art for Southwest State University GOLD college, classes on making simple mandalas for Southwest Minnesota Arts Council’s Artist Retreat and to the community at the Makers Market in Granite Falls, as well as Zoom and in-person classes for the Granite Area Arts Council on Zentangle Inspired Art, Line Potraits, and cartooning. She has done professional face painting demonstrations and events for teens at the Lyon County Library in Marshall. Krystl has taken many, MANY community art classes and thinks there is always something new to learn, even if you’ve already taken that class before or learned that technique somewhere else.
