The classes will be held on Saturdays\, from 2-4 p.m.\, beginning May 6th. This class is limited to 10 students\, and spots are filling quickly! \nDate of this class are: May 6th\, 13th\, 20th\, 27\, June 3rd and 10th\, 2023 \nRegistration closes April 1st\, 2023. The name was chosen because the first five members lived along Hwy 212\, The Yellowstone Trail.” -Quilters Along the Yellowstone Trail Brochure \nThis incredible exhibit showcases dozens of quilts from this incredibly talented group of women and can be viewed at the Cultural Centre through September 22\, 2023.

It includes poets\, essayists\, short story writers\, novelists and some who simply feel the urge to scribble something down on paper. It’s an eclectic bunch that finds commonality in our shared reverence for the written word. Mostly\, what we do is talk…and talk…and talk. We share our work with one another. We talk about writing in general and we talk about life. Some might think it odd to talk about life in a former funeral home\, but we don’t think that at all. As writers we understand that it’s not odd\, that it’s just ironic and writer’s love irony. It’s also why we love the Cultural Centre\, a place that celebrates irony and life. So\, if you feel the urge to scribble\, why not join us? We meet at 7pm on the second Tuesday each month. Our only requirement\, our only standard\, is a love of the written word. SUMMARY:David Adams Artist Reception
DESCRIPTION:“David Adams was trained as a musician through his Master’s Degree at the University of Minnesota where he met his future wife\, Chris\, in the piano room at Middlebrook Hall. They settled in Bird Island in 1970 where David was the Band Director for 31 years. They had two children\, Matt and Alisha. They spent their summers on the North Shore of Lake Superior at Tofte where Chris’ parents owned a resort called Sugar Beach. \nOne of David’s earliest memories was painting in watercolors at around age five. He has three brothers\, two who are professional artists. Duane shows in galleries in Omaha and Ron paints murals in buildings in Willmar. David picked up a serious interest in drawing with pen and ink in the 1990’s. This turned into his self-training in 2001 when he retired from teaching. \nDavid has a special love and talent for watercolor painting. He concentrates on rural landscapes of Minnesota. The paintings in this show features the many works created in his 80’s recovering from a long period of illness. \nThey are impressionistic in style. During his career as an artist\, he has shown in works in a number of shows in Bird Island and Willmar. He has painted over a thousand watercolors over the last 22 years.” \nDavid Adams 7-22-23
